Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album.

I've gotten myself into GR by first getting their last album, then decided to give this one a go too. Atoms divide, life decays, seems we are into nuclear explosions here, that is how GR feels, a powerful and fast blitz and stormy riffs and groovy hardcorish - thrashy blasts. Highly recommended for all thrash lovers out there. Toxic Holocaust does come in mind, true that, Wraith, Municipal Waste fans should love this !

Black Arts & Alchemy is the definition of a PERFECT EP! Every single song stands for it's own and could be single releases, if they wanted to be. It's a ripper (pun intended) and shows how absolutely brilliant of a musician and composer James McBain has become. A flawless blend of speed, blackened themes and catchy riffs/choruses. This will remain in my Top 3 favorite EPs of all time and it will be near impossible to dethrone it.
